Merlin's Keep
Joinery

Kinsale, Co. Cork.

A major refurbishment project of this Georgian town house in the heart of Kinsale. Only one of the original windows and none of the original doors were intact. We designed and made the windows based on the one remaining original. Using slim-edge double glazing, we were able to provide double-glazed comfort without compromising on the design. The custom made shutters compliment and dress the windows while providing further protection from the elements.

No. 5 Cork St

Kinsale, Co. Cork.

Formerly a shop as well as a private house, the facade joinery of No. 5 Cork St needed restoration. The shopfront is a perfect copy of the original. Working with the architect we designed a door to replace the uPVC one which had previously been fitted. Upstairs we salvaged enough original hand made cylinder glass which we used to glaze the fully refurbished and draft-proofed front sashes.

Herbert Park

Cork City

The owners of this handsome Edwardian semi-detached house in Cork wanted to improve their house's thermal performance while retaining the style and integrity of their original sash windows. We made new sashes to match the original windows with slim-glaze double glazing. The existing box frames were restored in-situ, with all rotten or damaged material removed and replaced with sound timber. The sashes were re-balanced to allow for the heavier glass and refitted fully painted.

The Rectory

Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

A total of 26 sliding sash windows in this Georgian period guesthouse were in need of serious overhaul and restoration. The windows are now fully operational and draft-proofed with all rotted sashes replaced or repaired. The original crown and cylinder glass was retained and refitted.
